I believe it is still worth contacting the EMA if you have suffered blood clots, hair loss, depression or any other adverse reaction to Dianette. In the Eu Dianette is called Diane 35 (cyproterone acetate & ethinylestradiol)

Information about Dianette links to depression

OUR AIM & WHAT WE DO

APRIL is a charity seeking to create awareness that many every day medicines and anaesthetics can induce psychiatric adverse reactions (ADRs) or withdrawal effects including depression, anxiety, insomnia, agitation, self harm, suicidal thoughts and actions, or violence towards others.

  • 1/16 in admission to hospital were found to be as a result of adverse drug reactions, excluding psychiatric ADRs ( BMJ 2004 Jul 3;329(7456):15-9.Pirmohammed study).

  • Hospital admissions due to adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in England increased by 76.8% over 10 years. ADRs as cause of emergency admission rose faster than any other cause ( J R Soc Med 2010 June 1; 103(6): 239–250)

APRIL colates information from academics, doctors and patients about neuro-psychiatric adverse drug reactions (ADRs).

We campaign for truthful information about all known possible adverse side effects, on patient leaflets and transparency of all clinical trials data.

Medical students can currently qualify without proven competence to prescribe or recognise ADRS. APRIL campaigns for inclusion of pharmacology in exams and medical courses.

We  use evidence from patients who have suffered psychiatric ADRs apparently caused by prescribed medicine, or following anaesthetic and drugs used during or following surgery, in our campaigns.

We hold meetings and conferences and give talks to medical professionals to create awareness of patient experiences and the extent of suffering in the community due to ADRs.

If you are worried that medication is having an adverse effect in any way, immediately seek professional medical help, or speak to a pharmacist.
